Synvisc One Injection

Before you begin treatment with Synvisc One Injection, carefully read and understand the patient information included with the product. Your dose will be injected into the knee by your doctor in a clinical setting. It is injected in the affected joint as a single dose or periodically, if needed. The number of doses required will be determined based on your condition and the result of treatment. 

Your doctor may need to perform other procedures in order to prepare the knee for treatment. This can include removing superfluous fluid from the affected knee. 

Once you have received your dose, you should avoid strenuous use of your knee joint, including exercise for 48 hours. Call your doctor if your condition worsens, does not improve or results in additional knee pain and swelling in the face tongue or throat.

Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant. Pregnant women or women that are nursing may cause health complications in babies. This product has not been tested to show pain relief in other parts of the body.

Synvisc has known side effects. This is not a complete list and includes frequently reported adverse events. If you experience any signs and symptoms of serious side effects when taking Synvisc, talk to your doctor or seek emergency care.

• unusual tiredness or weakness
• trouble breathing
• pain or aching in the lower legs
• fainting
• rapid weight gain
• sprain in the lower back
• joint infections
• pain, swelling, heat, redness
• skin disease or infection
• tingling feelings such as "pins and needles"
